Art Journalling with Ribbon

Hi, it's Laura here today with something a little different for Crafty Ribbons.  I'm going to share an art journal page with you...

I won't go in to heaps of detail here, but here is a brief list of the layers; gesso, black acrylc, pearl medium, white acylic, inks, sea salt, more ink, roller-ball pen, inked tissue paper, various ribbon and lace.

Here is a focus on the tissue and ribbon...

You can see snippets of 3mm in both satin and grosgrain, saddlestitch, satin, seam binding and stripy ribbon.  Unfortunately the lace is sold out now - booooooo!!  There is also a bird from the vintage ribbon at the top of the page.  He there for no particular reason - just because - and that is how I art journal - in a 'just because' kind of way.  Have a go, you need only please yourself!

The weather is just perfect, lets hope there will lots of happy brides today.

A special garden award!

I made this brooch to thank you my youngest son and his neighbour who decided to make a garden in a very little courtyard of their building in Paris. So, now they could eat rasberries, tomatoes, herbs, smell flowers... They did a very good job! I give them both a garden award on my son's birthday!

I used a yoyo maker,

a mini gingham check ribbon

and a dragon-fly button (to visit their little paradise!)

Percy Doorstop with buttons and ribbons
