Team Ribbons

Team Ribbons showing off their ribbon streamers in the recent Gold Hill Cycle ride for charity.

We attached lengths of ribbons to pieces of elastic.
The ribbon colours had to match Mollies Sky bike!

The elastic was then sewn to form a circle, they simply slipped over the handle bars.

It was great seeing the ribbons being caught by the wind.

We may not have been the first over the finish line, but we did have the best dressed bikes!

Happy 5th wedding anniversary!

I have made a wedding anniversary greeting
card using two "old" ribbons; the yellow one is
out of stock but the beautiful broad ribbon with
butterflies can still be found in yellow HERE

So basically I used the ribbon as patterned
paper this time; why don't you try it out?

A cosy nest for wubby

Some up cycling today! With cherry tomatoes box, I made this special nest for little wubbies I knit and crochet sometimes ago.

I used baby blue dots ribbon, satin ribbon, and a bygone collection.

A swiss dot ribbon, a grosgrain ribbon, a Morlaix cotton lace. Do you that you could put a colour's name in search motor on website? It is a good way to find what you would like. (also good with any name!)

I have a giveaway on my blog if you want to be in. Just let a comment on my blog HERE. (voucher, crochet and illustration I made)
Hoping you like these littles nests. Which one do you prefer?

Have a lovely day,

PS: you could follow me on Facebook  HERE and Instagram THERE  ;)

Lighthouse Bookmark

Hi Folks!  Laura here today with a quick nautical bookmark...

I took two lengths of  By The Sea Lighthouse ribbon and sewed them back to back turning the ends under neatly.  I then grabbed some garden twine and found a tutorial to make a monkey's fist knot.  I work better with visual instructions so I found a video to follow along with.

I attached this at the bottom and was finished.  I think it has quite a big impact for something that took very little work!

Thanks for looking!

Bias Binding chair

My niece Mollie is planning a new colour scheme for her bedroom. She wanted her chair recovered to match her curtains, so who does she ask? Auntie Ali!

It was very easy to recover, I just unpicked the the cover that was on the chair and used it as the template. Simple.

Our Bias binding was just perfect for the job, lovely colours to choose from and only 25p a mtr.
Find them all here

Mollie is one very happy little girl.

A Prize for National Scrapbooking Day

Good morning!  Today is National Scrapbooking Day and we are sponsoring a challenge run by UK Scrap Addicts.  To join in and be in with a chance of winning a £15 voucher to spend in our shop all you have to do is: pop over to the UKSA blog and have a look at/download the free digital cut file 'Good Old British Sayings'.  Make a layout using (or inspired by one of the sayings) and either share it on Instagram with #uksaNSDcut or link it up in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group in the appropriate thread.

As always Crafty Ribbons loves to see ribbon used in scrapbooking and Laura has this layout to share... hopefully to inspire you to have a go!

Scrapbooking needn't be expensive or complicated.  This page is made with the front cover of a catalogue, a few sequins, some tissue paper and ribbon.

The title is cut from the catalogue as is the patterned paper.

The ribbon forms a layer beneath the photo adding depth, texture and interest.  There is also a small piece of ribbon looped around a paper clip used as an embellishment.

You can find the ribbon Laura used here:  Cotton ribbon and 3mm grosgrain ribbon.

And we hope to see your scrapbook creations over in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper Facebook group, or on Instagram with the hashtag #uksaNSDcut over the next week.

My second ever flip book

This is a flip book I made using pink, grey
and black colours. The theme was music:

To close it I used the 9 mm music ribbon (above)
and inside I put a broader ribbon (25 mm wide)
to serve as a holder for the green tag.

Have you seen this heart string? That used
to be at Crafty Ribbons but is out of stock.
If you have something similar; why not use
it instead of a ribbon wrapping a gift!

There's more information at my blog.
