Happiest Creating

Hello!  Laura here today with a mixed media scrapbook layout.

I have a guide to making the background on my blog here.  Once all the mixed media was dry I gathered a few white paper layers, some organza swiss dots, a couple of grosgrain 3mm, some white lace, and a shade of purple lace that was as close a match to my background colour as possible.  I snipped my ribbon and lace in to 3cm-7cm pieces and tucked them in between my paper layers.

Because my white layers are sheer (I used glassine, tissue and webbing) it gives a really interesting effect with the lace and ribbon peeping through.

Thanks for looking!
Laura

Christmas Cards in July with Leah Tees

Hello everyone, I have used the Noel Heart Wool Felt Kit in my inspiration project this week.  I know, I know, its early yet to be thinking about Christmas, lol, but I don't mind.  It's a great start :)

This kit is supposed to make a decoration, but I am not very good at embroidering, hahaha, so I made it into a card.  I also used some Saddle-stitched Christmas Ribbon and some French Viscose Lace to finish it off.  If you would like to read more, please visit my blog here.

Come and join us at the Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog, for more fun and inspiration!

14th Juillet/July

Hi, Laura here today.

I've done a little research on today's project - let me share it with you...
In France on the 14th July they celebrate their National Day - La Fête nationale or Le quatorze juillet - the English speaking world call it (wrongly) Bastille Day.
Very thankful I looked that up before posting as I'd hate to offend!
In honour of 14th Juillet I've made the Tricolore out of ribbon!

I didn't have the best day for photographing and I'm sharing the out takes too.  It sure moves prettily in the wind!!

Of course all the ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and available on their website.

Thanks for stopping by,
More details about the how-to's will be on my blog here.

Hello everyone, from sunny Northern Ontario (and yes, the sun is shining up here today)!  It is so bright and cheery here today, and one of my favorite things to do on a nice sunny day is to sit on the deck and read.  That is what inspired me to make today's inspiration:  bookmarks!

The Dance

Hi Guys, Laura here today to share a scrapbook layout with you...

All the papers, sequins and washi are from Like For Ever scrapbooking kits, the heart string is a basics by DoCrafts.  The lace is of course from Crafty Ribbons - you can find the grey here and the lilac  here

There is a seam binding ruffle too.  It got covered up almost completely but it is under there adding dimension to the page.  (There are 124 colours of seam binding to chose from!!)

I thought the tiny hint of lilac went brilliantly with the softest greens and grey colour palette.

The photos are of my nephew dancing.  The journalling are the instructions for the moves if you fancy joining in!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Bias Binding Love!

Hi Crafters!  Laura here today sharing a little present my Mum made for me using some bias binding from the range Crafty Ribbons stocks.

My Mum is the best.  Look what she made for my Inktense pencils...

I want to take them on holiday with me, and can't bear the thought of them rattling around in a pencil case with the leads getting broken - these are my precious ones!  A length of padded material, bias binding and thread was all she needed... and it's perfect! Thanks Mum!!

Did you know Crafty Ribbons are now on Instagram?  We'd love to have you as followers...
