Ribbon Weaving

Hello Folks, Laura here today.

Back in September, I shared a woven clipboard with you.  I had a few ideas for other ways to use this Mad Weave in my crafting.

I made a few hexagon templates a little larger than twice the width of my ribbon and set about weaving around them.  Again you can watch a video of the weaving instructions here as it is much easier to watch than to read if you see what I mean.

I used super strong sticky tape on the backs of the hexagon to secure the ribbons in place.  I then had three tiles of woven ribbon.  My original plan was to use these as embellishments on a scrapbook layout but when I saw them I thought a card would be a good use of them too.

I use a square card blank and added a sentiment stamped and embossed on vellum and pinned to one of the hexagons.

I've used 9mm satin ribbons available here.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have all had a Happy Christmas and wish you all a Happy New Year!

Christmas Wreath

Sarah here with a pretty Christmas wreath featuring the Nisse Ribbon Collection.

I started by winding the wreath with tiny string lights before adding any embellishments. The battery pack was secured with glue on the back.

Using the sweet Nisse ribbon I made a loop to hang the wreath and topped it with a bow. I then wound seam binding and eyelash ribbon around the wreath and secured at the top.

I decorated the wreath with paper flowers, snowflakes and sequins and then added some white acrylic paint to tone down the colours and create a snowy effect to go with the Nisse ribbon.

A dash of iridescent glitter sprinkled over dabs of glue added some sparkle as a finishing touch.

You can check out the full process video here

Thanks for joining me today.

5 minute cards with Toppers

Happy Thursday Scatty Jan here today......
We all do it don't we? Yes there is always a need for a last minute card, someone forgotten pops up or an unexpected card pops through the door, I am sure I get caught out most years.
So this year I set myself a target 5 minute cards
I had discovered Crafty Ribbons do the most cutest toppers at an absolute amazing price
Check them all out Here

I really can not wait to get my hands on more of these beauties
I simply grabbed a few dies and popped them through my big shot but to be honest you could just use them as they are
So I gathered all my supplies and set the clock....

I dusted round each image with Distress Oxides, die-cut 3 little tags and stamped a sentiment in each and adhered a little string , layed up using foam tags to stick each topper to white card stock (cut at 3.5 x 3.5) , attached my ribbons, and then adhered to coloured card stock (cut at 4.0 x 4.0). I then glued to my 5 x 5 white card blank , attached my tag and a couple of dew drops to each card. I then stopped the clock
I worked on all three cards together and I stopped the clock at 14 minutes and 25 seconds!!
The lush ribbons are from the Christmas Cupcake Collection
and I have used
Christmas Cupcake ~ Happy Christmas Chocolate
Christmas Cupcake ~ Happy Christmas Red
Christmas Cupcake ~ Happy Christmas Turquoise
Thank you for looking

Sweet December

December is already here. Monthes passed so quickly. It's time to think about Christmas and all thinks around.

Today I'm wishing you a sweet December to think serenely during this period.
I used Ginger words ribbon from Gingerbread house collection to make this card and a very easy origami to do the christmastree. As I put on the middle, it looks like a pop-up card.

You could make it with children.
Hoping you would have a sweet December as mine.

psss! I have a new website. You're welcome to visit it and comment!

You're Beautiful Russian Doll Ribbon Card

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I am sharing my Russian Doll themed card. I love Russian Dolls and my daughter is obsessed with the one she has, when I saw this ribbon I was so happy :) I have used the Dolls Ribbon from the Russian Doll Collection.

I matched my papers and inks to the ribbon to create this card. The stamp set and mask I have used is the Beautiful Babushkas by For the Love of Stamps. I inked through the pattern, then separately stamped and coloured the little Russian Dolls, greeting and flowers using Distress Oxide Inks. To finish I added the beautiful ribbon and some sequins.

Thanks for looking,

Flying Pigs!

Hi folks, Laura here today.

When I saw this ribbon I knew I wanted to recreate the little tomte in paper form.  Who could possibly resist a nisse riding a pig?!

I made a pattern and paper pieced him together in matching cardstock.  I tried to include all the details from Ali's design.  I made it slightly dimensional by layering - I guess that is decoupage?

I attached the nisse to the card in such a way that he spins... now not only do we have a nisse riding a pig we have a flying pig!!

I'd love to give you directions on how to create a spinner card but I worked from several tutorials that I found on YouTube and still ended up wandering off on my own path.  I will share clear instructions when I have them, it's on my list of things to do in the new year.

Supplies:
Ribbon from the Nisse collection from Crafty Ribbons
Sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps
paper from my stash

Thanks for looking!

Pink ribbon fairy !!

Morning guys !!

Just sharing my cute pink dolly peg ribbon fairy with you today. Just right to hang on your Christmas tree and use up your scraps of ribbon !!

All you need to do is paint a dolly peg white, draw in hair and features with black pen plus shoes. Then make a pom pom using your ribbon scraps the old fashion way with two circles of card with hole cut in middle, but leave a hole in middle when wrapping ribbon round to push dolly peg into before cutting apart and tying thread round. Add big bow for wings and attach another piece of ribbon to hang her up with.

The ribbons I have used are:
Pink Gingham and Check: HERE
Pink Polka Dots: HERE
Pink Stripe: HERE
Pink French Cotton Lace: HERE

Wow so many fantastic colours to choose from, what colour will your fairy be ??

hugs Diane xx
