Princess Birthday Card using Bling Velvet Ribbon

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I am sharing a 2nd Birthday Princess Card I made which I'm also using as my Crafty Ribbons Design Team inspiration!

I wanted to add some sparkle and when I saw this ribbon I knew it would be perfect :) I have used the Bling Velvet Ribbon in Irrediscent from the Bling Velvet Collection!

I am not sure my photos do this ribbon justice as it is really sparkly and pretty!

I made the card using a kit and added in a small ribbon loop to the side of the topper and a ribbon bow to the top corner to finish.

Love Bracelet

Hi Crafty Friends, Laura here today with a bracelet tutorial.

First off I gathered my ingredients - Heart ribbon and 2 contrasting colours of 3mm organza ribbons (you'll need a little more than twice the length of your wrist of each ribbon).  A few seed beads.  Fixings for a bracelet and 2 ribbon clasps.  Needle and thread, jewellery pliers, matte medium.

Of course you can choose any colours and any ribbons.

Cut your main ribbon (in this case the heart ribbon) in half.  Add the organza ribbons to one end with a couple of small stitches.  Ensure it is close enough to the end of the ribbon to be covered by the ribbon clasps.

Seal the edges of the ribbon and the stitches with a little matte medium or P.V.A. glue.  This will prevent fraying and make sure your knot stays tight.

Measure 9 equal distances and make tiny marks with a pencil.  This is where we will add our beads.

Cross the organza ribbons over each pencil dot and secure with a stitch.  Then add another stitch, this time including a seed bead.  Continue on like this, alternating the organza ribbon crossing in front of the hearts and then behind the hearts.

Knot and trim the threads on the back.  Add a little dot of matte medium, P.V.A glue or clear nail varnish to seal the knot.

I like to add a little blob of matte medium into the ribbon clasp before adding the ribbon, just for a little extra security.  Take the length of heart ribbon that you set aside earlier and match it up to the back of the embellished ribbon.  We are using this to hide the sewing.  Take both lengths of heart ribbon and insert them in to the end of the ribbon clasp and crimp firmly with piers.

Add the jewellery findings to each end and ta da!

You have a finished bracelet!

Thanks for looking!

Good Times

Hi, Sarah (ManxyCatCrafts) here today with a layout featuring the cute Wellie ribbon from the Summer Festival collection.

I started my layout by creating the background on black cardstock. I used a cloud stencil and texture paste which went well with my photo and the chosen ribbon. I painted the clouds in colours that matched my patterned papers and embellishments.

I used a black and white photo for contrast as I knew my background, papers and ribbon were very colourful.

My photo was matted onto black cardstock to help it pop and then I added lots of paper layers behind it, using wider pieces towards the bottom to help ground it and make the most of my ribbon.

To add some more interest I added some cute stickers from a matching sticker sheet around my paper cluster and some chipboard stars.

My title was added to the top opposite corner and grounded on more papers and ribbon.

The final touch was to add lots of splashes of ink sprays for a fun messy finish.
You can check out the video here https://youtu.be/4wUJ5sPeJeU

Thanks for stopping by and have a Crafty day :)

Wedding Card using Morlaix Cotton Lace Ribbon and Basics 2 Go Buttons

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

Today I am sharing a wedding card I made last year for one of my dearest friends. For this card I used the lovely Morlaix Cotton Lace Ribbon in white and the super cute Love Naturals Buttons from the Basics 2 Go Buttons selection.

The colour theme was lilac and grey. I used various punches and dies to create the Mrs & Mrs with the date. To finish I added the cute lace ribbon and buttons to the spare squares. When I saw these buttons I knew they would be perfect for this card! To finish I added some purple thread, a small heart charm and some sequins.
