A dear friend of mine showed me her style of ribbon work, I was stunned. So different from the traditional flowers, it broke all the rules. She did confess that she did not know the rules!
I was itching to have a go, but did not get any free time till Christmas. I had been feeding the Blue Tits on my window sill so...........
........this little chap had to be my first attempt. We launched him last week at the Paris show, he was much loved and stole the show for us. Why not have a go at making him. The kit can be found here, the design is printed on the fabric, very clear instructions, all the silk ribbon and needles you need to make you very own Blue Tit.
Pleased with my Blue Tit I just had to try to embroider a Robin......
....I love him. Robins are very special to me, so I was a little apprehensive at first. Once again the design is printed on to the fabric so you just embroider over the top. You can find the kit here. Totally love this style of ribbon work. Thank you Laura.
If you want to stick with the traditional silk ribbon embroidery then try our Sundial Garden. Gorgeous gathered hollyhocks, violets and daisies can be found here.
Our new ribbon challenge started yesterday on our Facebook page. Why not join in by adding a photo to the challenge post. You could win £15 to spend in our store.
Have fun
