Don't waste your ends!

Hi there. Laura here today.

Does anyone else get their lengths wrong when wrapping a present and end up trimming 3 or 4 inches off the ends of ribbon instead of the preferred half an inch?  I do ALL THE TIME!!

But I hate waste so I usually add them to a tag.  This way you get no waste and a pretty accessory for your beautifully wrapped parcel!  Here I've used 15mm Micro Dots in Shocking Pink as it was the perfect match to my paper.

Bicycle Tag

Hi Guys, Laura here.  Sometimes I have these crazy ideas that I need to get out of my head... you know, like when you wonder if you can make a mini bike out of wire with buttons for wheels...

It turns out you can, imagination, two buttons, pliers and about 80cm of thin craft wire is all you need!

I added it to a tag with some seam binding and satin ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I tied the tag with a little more seam binding and 3mm grosgrain in a matching light orchid.

I know it's quirky but I love it!!

Tag:Love

Hi Chaps, Laura here today with a quick share of a tag...

This was whipped up in less than 15 minutes using the patchwork rose ribbon collection and some pretty pink lace.  Perfect for popping on a present or instead of a card in some happy mail.

Santa's Treats

Hi, its Laura here today with a Christmas tin...

I've had this tin for a while so I re-purposed it by covering up the slogan on the lid and decorating it all Christmassy.  Perfect for giving home made mince pies as a gift.

I've used the Santa Festive Combo - character ribbon, ho ho ho ribbon and a wonderful Santa shaped button.  I added paper, a tag and sequins from my stash.  Oh, and I threaded the tag with some 3mm grosgrain in Island Blue.

Bring on the mince pies!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

hi!

Hi!  It's Laura here today...

This is the project I am sharing;

Two types of ribbon mixed with a tag, a cut file, a scrap of ink soaked paper, a couple of alpha stickers and an enamel dot.

A close up of the details...

I made the ruffle using white ribbon from a £1 ribbon pack.  I set my sewing machine to the longest, straight stitch possible and sewed down the middle of the ribbon - it doesn't even need to be a straight line, which is just as well really!!  Then pull on one thread and ease the ribbon along, et voila!  Secure the threads with a knot so it doesn't unruffle over time.  I find the super sticky red backed tape the easiest way to stick ruffles down.

I also used the 3mm grosgrain from the Baby Washing range to finish off my tag.

Mini Tag Album

Hi Guys!  Laura here today to share a mini tag album with you...

I always dress binding rings with plenty of ribbon.  This time I've used 3mm, sheer dots, flowers and hearts.

I pick my ribbons to match my colour scheme - blue, green and yellow.

Of course I cannot make anything without adding extra ribbon!  This is an off-cut of swiss dots threaded through a button

You can pop over to my blog to see more of the mini album and Crafty Ribbons to stock up on ribbons and buttons.

Thanks for stopping by,
Laura
