Chocolate, ice cream and butterflies

Invited to eat? Want to make a card to the hostess?
Here I made three cards to inspire you; first one out
with ribbons you remember; cupcake ribbons HERE
and pink text ribbon HERE.

Below:Next one features some ice creams from a die I
got with Die-cutting Essentials this year. This particilar
ice cream ribbon in summer colours is out of stock
but there are several equally nice ribbons HERE.

Below I used my last piece of the purple thin
butterfly ribbon that feels like felt and I'm afraid
there is no more of this one either. Does it ever
happen to you that you like a ribbon so much you
always save some for later??

The text on the card above means "Instead of
a flower" and it's in Swedish.

Thanks for visiting and welcome back!

Embroidery Hoop

Hi Folks, Laura here today.

I'm sharing this embroidery hoop that I have decorated with papers, rub ons and lace.

I used my favourite lace - Volcan viscose lace in mint along with some 3mm grosgrain to make a hanging loop.

I typed out and trimmed some dictionary definitions.

The main quote is traced on to vellum.  The butterfly rub ons are also added to vellum and fussy cut out.

You can watch how the entire project came together:

To see life in blue!

Time for a new Crafty Ribbon challenge this week we see life in blue!

I love this spring owl ribbon so I put Mr in a frame of log cabin ribbons. Do you know I am really fond of patchwork?

Light colors on the one hand and dark on the other.  I used a lot of swiss dots ribbon, candy saddle stitch and gros grain saddle stitch plus smile blue message.

Hoping you will receive my smiles all special as you are for me !

Baby Socks!

Hi Chaps!  Laura here today to share a new baby gift and wrapping idea...

I picked a caterpillar and butterfly button from the Basics 2 Go pastel garden mix and pulled out some Lime Juice organza Swiss dot from the Baby Washing range.  I made simple bows and attached the button securely over the top with contrasting thread to a pair of new born socks.

I wrapped up with some spotty tissue paper and white and sunshine swiss dot ribbon.  I hand lettered a tiny tag with watercolours and attached with a length of 3mm satin ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Holidays card

I love to post and receive postcards from all over the world and I found this summer  in Somerset some vintage cards  which are just perfect with new collection "Summer festival" designed by Ali.

When you do some Postcrossing , you could receive a card like this with a lot of ribbons and beautiful stamps just agreed with picture! It's our game...

Enjoy if you are in holidays and others think about your memories,

I {heart} Butterflies

Here is a sweet little wreath I made using some 3mm ribbon and the butterfly nature ribbon.

I generously applied matte medium to the back of the butterfly ribbon and allowed it to dry.  This stiffens the ribbon and stops the edges from fraying enabling you to cut out shapes from ribbon.

I have used;
nature ribbon - butterflies
3mm satin in off white and lilac mist
3mm grosgrain

Bless You!

Hi Everyone!

Have you been suffering from hay fever this summer?  Mine has been awful!  To make blowing my nose 20 times a day a bit more bearable I jazzed up a kraft tissue box...

I've used acrylic paint and butterfly ribbon.  I took the pink and lilac flowers from the background of the ribbon and carried them through in the painting.

I'm really loving using this butterfly ribbon - have you got some yet?

Butterfly Notes

Hi, Laura here today to share another ribbony project!

I've used a stencil and pearlised paint to add some butterflies to a blank kraft note book.  Then to finish it off I've added a strip of the Butterfly Nature Ribbon.

This ribbon is really easy to use 'as is' and doesn't need much else to show it off.  The paint is iridescent and looks different colours from different angles.

Thanks for looking!

Magazine Sling

Hi Guys,  Laura here today to share a project with you.

I've had this calico magazine sling kicking around for so long that I can't remember where it came from!  I thought it could do with a bit of a makeover.  In my clean and simple style I simply added a strip of butterfly ribbon with super sticky tape.  It won't move accidentally, but if I fancy a change in a year or two it will peel off.

How would you use the butterfly ribbon?
