Seaside Mixed Media Mini Pallet

Sarah here with a mixed media project using the Fresh Stripe and Ric Ric ribbons.

If you would like to see the full process you can watch my video here.

I painted a mini wooden pallet from a mixed media kit with gesso and added texture with sand paste and art stones.
Once dry I added paint and inks to colour the background.

Using 3D gel medium I attached the pieces of net to the pallet, the photo was layered with papers cheese cloth and hessian to add lots of texture.

Shells, flowers and sequins added to the nautical theme and some Ric Rac added more texture the sandy background.

I added a sweet quote on a chipboard heart sticker and added some Fresh Stripe ribbon for an added touch of cuteness!!

More wider matching Fresh Stripe ribbon turned my pallet into a little piece of wall art.

Thanks for visiting, do check out the Crafty Ribbons Facebook group for competitions and inspiration and have a great day!

A treasure bag

Hi everyone!
I am sure when you go to the beach, you pick a lot of little treasures.

So I decided to make a special treasure bag to collect (not too much!) all pretty finds.

The new collection "by the sea"from Crafty Ribbons is just perfect for it. I used by the sea-seaside for the bag's bottom.

and by the sea-lighthouse for the handles. Very quick to sew and I think it will be appreciate by all.

Have a peaceful time today,

Holiday Fund ~ Money Box

Hi Guys, Laura back today to share a money box made using an old dominoes box and the By The Sea ribbons.

First off I whittled a coin sized hole in the wood.  It was easy enough to do with a craft knife as the wood was very soft.  To prepare my wooden box to accept paint I used a watercolour ground.  Once that was dry I played around with some turquoise and brown watercolour paints, flicking and splattering until my desk was messy and my heart was happy!

I added some of the lighthouse ribbon to either side and wrapped some seaside ribbon around the box.  I added some hand lettering to the front and a few sequins for extra sparkle.

It's easy to get the money out as the front panel slides out.  I wonder if it will help with my savings..?

Thanks for stopping by!
