Anchor | Altered Art Project

Sarah here today with an altered art anchor.

I love nautical themed crafts and there are some amazing ribbons over in the shop which are perfect for sun sea and sand projects.

To give my anchor a base for lots of embellishments and paint I gave it a couple of base coats of gesso.

I added nautical themed embellishments, stones and netting followed by some lovely pearly paints.

As it was quite pale and shimmery I added some darker inks to add depth and highlight the embellishments.

I created a paper cluster on a shutter and created a visual triangle around it using flowers and gems.

I added a cute bow and tail to the anchor in thin striped ribbon and draped white eyelash ribbon all around the project.

Seaside Mixed Media Mini Pallet

Sarah here with a mixed media project using the Fresh Stripe and Ric Ric ribbons.

I painted a mini wooden pallet from a mixed media kit with gesso and added texture with sand paste and art stones. 

Once dry I added paint and inks to colour the background. 

Using 3D gel medium I attached the pieces of net to the pallet, the photo was layered with papers cheese cloth and hessian to add lots of texture.

 Shells, flowers and sequins added to the nautical theme and some Ric Rac added more texture the sandy background.

I added a sweet quote on a chipboard heart sticker and added some Fresh Stripe ribbon for an added touch of cuteness!!

More wider matching Fresh Stripe ribbon turned my pallet into a little piece of wall art.
