Welcome spring

Wishes for spring to come inspired me to
make these two cards in bright colours.

The pretty yellow ribbon on the card above is
a gingham ruffle ribbon found HERE in the shop.

On the second card I tried to match the patterned paper
with the wellie ribbon from the Summer Festival range.

More information about materials in my BLOG.

Thanks to our Olympic athletes!

I don't know for you but I am very fond of Olympic games! Every four years, I am in front a tv wherever I am in the world. I organise my days on Olympic hours and sleep when I can!

I would like to thank all women and men who take part in this wonderful adventure. All continents joined for great times. They make me dream of a better world.

Congratulations to all with a medal or not. They can't be competitions without any of you.

I used 5mm gingham ribbon (so much colors!) for medals and 40mm gros grain ribbon under thank you word. This snowflake ribbon is from an old season but there are many others to choose.
Do you think, they could see this congratulations card in Pyeongchang ?
All my love to this great champions.
You give us so much emotions.
THANK YOU

Mix Media Notebook with Morlaix Cotton Lace and 3mm Satin Ribbon

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Today I am sharing my notebook that I wanted to decorate and make special for myself to keep notes and ideas in. This is what I came up with . . .

So I started wih a plain notebook! I forgot to take photos of the beginning (but that's the boring part!)

I layered purple acrylic paint over gesso, then used some Distress Ink Sprays to create the colours, layering until I was happy with the results. I used the lovely Crafty Ribbons Morlaix White Cotten Lace and sprayed this with the pink ink to match the colours of my notebook.

I used a silk rose for my main flower and painted / sprayed this too. I played about with the layout of the overall frame and wooden sentiment.

I decided on some of the mix media bits I wanted to use on my notebook and the perfect ribbon! I wanted a thin purple ribbon and chose the 3mm Satin Ribbon in Light Orchid.

I played around with the layout and created a small bow for my metal tag and used the ribbon to hold a mini "scroll" from the owl embellishment.

I plan to use this notebook for jotting down my crafty ideas and inspiration!

This design incorporates things I love like purples and pinks, roses, owls, sparkly bits, sequins and of course lace and ribbon!

Thanks for looking,

Silk Leaves on a Scrapbook Layout

Hi Guys!  Laura here today with a scrapbook layout.

This project started with one idea, circled through a couple more ideas and ended up being one of my favourite creations so far this year.

I started with some heart confetti cut on my Silhouette Cameo and Rose Gold Red Vibez from Shimmerz.  I was inspired by my friend Mary to have a good at a bokeh-type background.  You can see how in the video posted below.

That was just playing with no plan in place for the finished piece.  I decided to go the ribbon route and make it a DT piece for Crafty Ribbons.  I picked a few ribbons and dyed them with the same spray.

I then decided it needed some green, and what better than some silk leaves...

I also added silk twists to the centre of my vellum flower.  I'd have used french knots if I knew how to do them ;)

I used the following ribbons from Crafty Ribbons:  Organza Swiss Dots; Seam Binding; Silk Ribbons.

Here is the process:

Thanks for stopping by!
